BE ON THE WATCH FOR

CANDIDA AURIS  ALIAS: “C. auris”

This relative of the more famous Candida albicans has been spreading across the world since its discovery in 2009. It has been found to colonize human skin and can contaminate surfaces rapidly. The yeast also has resistance to most antifungal agents and should be considered a major risk in any environment. The yeast is spreading in the community and needs to be given consideration in any cleaning process.
